Google buys more patents

It looks like Google is trying very hard to keep Android alive and ahead of the game by purchasing more patents to protect it’s lovely little robot, but also the great open source java. Google had lost a bidding match earlier this year for more than 6,000 patent filings from Nortel to a collective formed of Apple, Microsoft, Research in Motion, Ericsson, Sony, and EMC.

Last week Google sold some 9 patents to HTC to pursue and infringement case HTC has against Apple in an effort to protect Android after acquiring them last year from Myriad Group. It’s tough to tell whether we’re looking at an offensive or defensive purchase here but here is a list composed by Seo by The Sea that looked interesting.
