What you see here folks is a Windows 7 desktop theme developed by Flickr user David Molina. Ice Cream Sandwich is pretty darn good looking, and David wanted to bring some of that to his desktop PC.
Getting the theme up-and-running requires quite a few steps, 9 to be exact but after is all done is actually worth it. Thanks to the folks at LifeHacker for the instructions I am about to show you below:
If you want the same look for your Windows system, here are the components you’ll need:
- The Ice Cream Sandwich wallpaper from WallBase
- The APPOWS2010 theme for Windows 7 from DeviantArt to tweak the taskbar
- RocketDock with a blank theme to create the dock on the left side
- The Ice Cream Sandwich Icon Pack from DroidPirate
- The Rainmeter system monitor and configuration tool for Windows
- The Minimal Bar skin for Rainmeter to display the time and date
- The Lexis skin for Rainmeter to display the weather
- Simplesentencethree for Rainmeter for the currently playing music display in the lower-right corner
- The Google Search Bar for Rainmeter
- The Roboto Font (specifically Roboto Light)
Still, if you have trouble getting everything set up the way you like, check our LifeHacker’s tutorial to getting started with Rainmeter, or drop by David’s Flikr page to compliment him and ask how he managed to make everything work.
