Reports are surfacing from Digitimes with claims that the rumored Google Nexus tablet which is being co-developed by Asus will ship by June with a release date of July.
Although the tablet will be a 7-inch slate with an Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core processor, the tablet looks very promising as the price point is rumored to be aligned with that of the Kindle Fire. As you know Nvidia is working on a platform called Kai which is essentially a way for Nvidia to bring all the key elements of their latest Tegra 3 quad core processor onto hardware that is cheaply made and can be produced with the price point Google is attempting to bring which is $199.
Google says they have high hopes for the slate and is planning on shipping 600,000 units per month and expect the tablet to reach 2 to 2.5 million units for 2012. Chances are this tablet will be unveiled at the Google I/O conference this June.
