Sprint HTC Evo Design 4G and Evo 3D to get Android Ice Cream Sandwich in August

Sprint announced today via their Community Forums that the Evo Design 4G and Evo 3D are scheduled to get updated to ICS this August. We are not too sure on the details of the update but one has to assume most of the goodies from ICS should be coming over with HTC’s heavy skin which may possibly be Sense 3.6 instead of Sense 4.0 on current high end HTC devices.

Of course as soon as I find out more about the update I will be sure to let you know!! No word yet on the original Evo 4G or the Evo Shift 4G.

The wait is almost over for HTC EVO™ 3D and HTC EVO Design 4G™ customers! The Android™ 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, update will begin rolling out to users by early August. Stay tuned for exact dates.

When your device is eligible for the update, it will notify you to download. Once the download is complete, you will be prompted to install the update. Installation will take a few minutes, and your device will be disabled during the installation process. It will be ready to use when the process is complete.
