iOS 6.1 Now Available for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch

Well folks, Apple has released iOS 6.1 to the masses and with the new update a few key enhancements people we hoping for are finally available. The update is currently coming through over-the-air. To download the update directly from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, head to Settings, then General, then Software Update. Your device will include installation instructions and release information here.

The release says it includes:

  • LTE support for more carriers (complete list of supported carriers at www.apple.com/iPhone/LTE/)
  • Purchase movie tickets through Fandango with Siri (USA only)
  • iTunes Match subscribers can now download individual songs from iCloud
  • New button to reset the advertising identifier.

In a  press release which was also released along side the update Phil Schiller says that “nearly 300 million iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices are on iOS 6 in just five months, and that it may be the most popular new version of an OS in history.”

Unfortunately there are still old bugs that have yet to be squashed and according to the comment stream from 9 to 5 mac it seems people are having different issues overall.

I am still pissed off at the fact the iPad 1 was not included in the iOs 6 update and I am having so many issues with the app store and certain apps not working smooth.
